Native to India, Kapoor Tulsi, commonly known as Holy Basil (o. sanctum) is an aromatic perennial plant variety that smells reminiscent of cloves and fruit. Stems, leaves, flowers, and seeds are all good for making tea. Frequent harvests recommended as this increases production. Easy to grow. Self-sows readily.

Growing Info: Annual. Germination: 5-14 days, 70-75°F. Harvest starts about 10 weeks after sowing. Basil is a pick-and-come-again herb which produces well when heavily picked. Grows best in well-drained rich soil.
Health Benefits: Many medicinal and culinary uses. Basil has been used as a carminative. Research indicates that it may inhibit gastric acid secretion. Holy basil has additional medicinal properties.
