Beetroot - Chioggia Beet (Organic)
The Chioggia Dolce di Chioggia (beta vulgaris) are an Italian variety of beets which can be recognized by its scarlet roots with attractive reddish-pink and white ring interior. These roots can be kept for a while canned, frozen, and they're great pickled. The tops of the plant can be used in fresh salads, steamed, or cooked in your favorite dish.

Growing Info: Sow outdoors in early spring. Plant in full sun. Sow seeds 1/2″ deep and 3″ apart to allow plants to grow uniformly sized beets. Less than 3" apart would result in the crowding of roots, thus producing smaller beets. Seeds germinate in approximately 10-12 days.
