Organic Salad Bowl Lettuce is a loose leaved lettuce that is tolerant to hot weather areas because it is slow to bolt and seed. Crisp, tender leaves have an appealing apple-green color. High in vitamins A and B. The sweet taste doesn't get bitter in hot weather. As the name suggests, the Salad Bowl Lettuce is a great start to a green salad. Resistance to Bolt disease and relatively good heat tolerance.

Growing Info: 50 days to mature after germination. Sow directly in the garden as early as the soil can be made fine and loose. Plant seeds every 2 inches, covering firmly with soil. Thin plants to 6 inches apart when they display 2 or 3 leaves. As plants begin to crowd, pick individual leaves regularly for use.
Suggestions: Lettuce needs plenty of moisture. Also, fall crops may have to be started indoors since lettuce has a difficult time even germinating in hot weather. Transplant with care.
