Squash - Waltham Butternut (Organic)
Butternut Squash (cucurbita moschata) is a type of vine-growing winter squash that has a sweet, nutty taste similar to that of a pumpkin. Its outer beige skin is hard and thick whilst the inside flesh is orange. The base of the fruit houses the seeds - this is the blossom end. When the squash is ripe it turns increasingly deep orange and becomes sweeter and richer. Butternut Squash can be roasted, sautéed, toasted, puréed, boiled or mashed.

Growing Info: 95 days. Very vigorous and dependable. Fruits average 8-9 in. long, 3-4 lbs. It can be harvested when small and used like a summer squash. Excellent resistance to vine borers. Stores very well.
