Radish - Organic Cherry Belle
The radish is a edible root vegetable that was domesticated in Asia. Radishes are grown and consumed throughout the world, being mostly eaten raw as a crunchy salad vegetable with bite. The Cherry Belle Radish (Raphanus sativus) is a quick growing variety with bright cherry roots and green leaves. Round roots, bright red skin, and firm white flesh. Somewhat less susceptible to developing pithiness compared to other varieties.
Growing Info: 24 days. Sow radish seeds in well-worked soil in early spring and late summer for fall crop. Sow thinly in rows about 6" apart. Seedlings emerge in 4-6 days. Thin to stand about 2" apart. Cherry Belle Radish is generally harvested when they reach ¾ inch or at most one inch in diameter.
Suggestions: Radishes exhibit best flavor when grown in cool weather and full sun. Use leaves in salads. For mild radishes, mulch and keep watered to speed growth.
