Okra - Burgundy (Organic)
Burgundy Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is a darker version of Okra to what the Caribbean people are used to seeing. The fruits, leaves, steams and veins are a deep maroon, red in color. The plant grows 4-6 feet with 5⁄8" wide spineless pods - up to 10" long (tenderest at 7" or less). Other red okras bear longer and handle disease better, but Burgundy is earlier and fine tasting.
